Welcome to the Community Resource Group

Housing

Owning a home is much more than a place to live! It provides stability, security, and is an investment in future generations. For hardworking, rural families with low-incomes, there are many barriers that prevent ownership of a home, or ownership of one that is more than just a roof over one’s head. At Community Resource Group (CRG), we are dedicated to helping these families work past these barriers toward home ownership that is an investment in their future.

If you live in a colonia* along the South Texas border, you may already own land and be building a home. Without access to traditional financing, you build your home using what money you can spare. This process can take years. CRG’s Nuestra Casa Home Improvement Loan program helps colonia families finish, and improve, their homes.

Owning a manufactured home does not always mean owning the land beneath. If you live in a mobile home park the land can literally be sold out from under you. You may suddenly be faced with finding a new space and the high cost of moving your home. At CRG, we are working to assist homeowners in the formation of resident-owned parks, through our manufactured home park conversions program.

Hardworking families, in rural areas, often can’t find a well-built home that is affordable to buy and to operate. They must also be able to secure a mortgage with payments they can afford. CRG Homes is solving both problems for low-income families in Starr County, Texas.

Regardless of the need, we strive to help families create a
home that is truly a giant savings account—one that can continue to grow.
