Welcome to the Community Resource Group

Lending

Pressing social needs drive Community Resource Group (CRG) programs—lending enhances their success. These programs help secure the basics, such as safe drinking water, property ownership, decent housing, and reliable transportation for low-income families.

In 2001, CRG was designated as a Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) by the U.S. Department of Treasury. CRG’s Community Loan Fund (CLF) provides support for:

  · Water and wastewater – Loans, with terms up to ten years,
enable rural communities to make the necessary repairs and
improvements needed to maintain an uninterrupted supply of
safe drinking water for their customers.

  · New home construction – Construction financing and mortgages
for CRG Homes’ work on the South Texas border, means more
hardworking, low-income families are becoming homeowners.
  · Home improvement lending – In the colonias*, low-income
families work incrementally to build, and improve, their homes.
Access to a Nuestra Casa Home Improvement Loan speeds up
the building process. A loan can make the difference between
    indoor plumbing and an outhouse!

In addition to their Community Loan Fund, CRG manages the Revolving Loan Fund (RLF) for the Rural Community Assistance Partnership (RCAP), underwriting and servicing water and wastewater loans for rural systems nationwide. Each year the national RCAP partner organizations work with more than 2,500 rural water systems, providing technical assistance that helps keep the water flowing.

CRG lending, as an integral part of the organization, will continue to grow as new program initiatives are launched and current projects expand.
