Welcome to the Community Resource Group

Water & Waste Disposal

We literally did not know where to turn when our water system was imperiled by one of the largest landslides to ever occur in our area (according to the federal geologist),” said Bill Copeland, President of the Cedar Mountain Water Co-op. Those living in this small community still had lovely views, but no way to even take a shower!

A telephone call brought Guy Sepich, a member of Community Resource Group’s experienced water and wastewater services staff, to their mountain. Guy provided this small, rural community with onsite technical assistance, as they worked together to find the best solution to the problem.

Last year, Community Resource Group helped more than 570 rural communities, like Cedar Mountain, protect their public drinking water and insure that their wastewater facilities were working properly. We accomplish this by providing:
     • onsite technical assistance,
     • access to credit,
     • training, and
     • publications.

We serve a seven-state region (please see map to the right). CRG’s goal is to leave rural communities with better water systems, and increased capability to solve problems and address future needs. Most importantly, we leave them with safe water!

Update on Cedar Mountain
Laying a water main on top of the ground was the first step and a temporary fix for the community's lack of water.  Next, the Co-op worked with Guy to secure funding and find a neighboring utility that could provide a safe, and uninterrupted, supply of water.  Today, Cedar Mountain is on its way to installing water lines and building a pumping station, insuring a reliable source of water for the community.

We have consistently run into stone walls and Guy has always been able to redirect us to a new avenue of hope,” Bill commented. He clearly states what CRG’s water and wastewater services are all about when he further adds,
This project will affect not only our standard of living but
quite possibly whether we will be able to stay in our homes on
      Cedar Mountain at all
.”

And, we want them to stay!
